There is something wonderful about the crisp morning air when the Autumn Season aproaches. The following is my top 10 favorite things about this time of year.
1) Warmth & Togetherness. I get excited about wearing featherweight sweaters with leggings as I enjoy sitting by an outdoor fire pit with friends and family.
2) Fallen Leaves. I go out of my way to stomp on fallen leaves just to hear them crunch. (An activity I’ve done since I was a small child).
3) Childlike Enthusiasm for Autumn. Just the other day I summoned my son, Boy Wonder, wash up for supper. He excitedly informed me that he and his neighborhood friends had collected a pile of leaves and we’re preparing to jump in. I couldn’t help but permit his delay coming home. The giggles were contagious and even his little sister, Lady Bug, got tickled by all the commotion. These are the things memories are made of. For a brief moment nothing else mattered but the joy!
4) Beauty.  I also look forward to glorious display of colors ranging from orange, gold, burgundy, purple, and earthy browns divinely arranged against a beautiful clear blue October sky. I simply cannot help but admire the Creator’s work of art – its breathtaking!
5) Autumn in Wisconsin. One of the nicest place to experience all these lovely features of the season is in Wisconsin. One of the things I enjoy about this time of year, in the Northern Midwest, is visiting places with amazing views. I look forward to seeing the fall colors strewn across the landscape like warm cozy afghan blanket. One of the things my husband, Mr. Wonderful, has introduced me to is taking a cruise, the long way around to Holy Hill. We climb the 170+ steps at the Catholic Basilica to the top of a belltower, just so we can admire the 360° panoramic view of rolling hills. On a clear day we can see the City Skyline of Milwaukee in the far distance. I had only seen this kind of landscape when I traveled through the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia as a child.
6) Home Sweet Home. The similarities between Virginia and Wisconsin makes living in Dairyland feel more and more like home.
7) Harvest Time. Autumn makes me think about harvesting pumpkins, apple picking, canning the last of my tomatoes in preparation for rest (winter) and renewal (spring).
8) The Created admiring Creation. I am honored to participate as a member in the beautiful artwork of God. The Father created us in His image and we are also part of the creation we behold as beautiful.
10) Hiking Trails. Spending time outdoors during Autumn seems vital when in relationship with the Almighty.
In closing, I would like to share a stanza from one of my favorite poems that seems fitting for this topic.

“… I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

(I Am ~ John Clare)

Hi! My name is Carolina and I would like to share a little bit about myself. I was born & raised in Southeastern Virginia where I developed a fondness for seafood, country music, and unstoppable patriotism. I enjoy learning new things and old things. I am fascinated by the message of the Gospel & my own childlike enthusiasm for life. I come from a single parent home and was taught to be self reliant if I want to survive. Now that I have my own blended family I pass on that teaching with a double portion of Faith-in-action. I encourage my husband, Brian, & our children to rely on God while we live in a lil’ patch ‘o’ heaven in beautiful Southeast Wisconsin. I was educated at Old Dominion University and had a career helping active duty military personnel cope with trauma and aftermath of combat. Now, I am a stay at home mom and devoted wife. I enjoy finding new and clever ways to be frugal in this challenging economy while we live on a single income. In the mean time, I am also cultivating my own home based business. My priorities in life is a beautiful balance of Faith/Family/Career the the opportunity to determine which areas I need to invest my time and energy. With this blog, I intend on sharing everything from comical happenings in a house with 5 children between the ages of 7months-17years old., to beauty tips & trends, to homemaking hacks I find essential, recipies, and inspirational testimony of God’s never failing love. Thank you for getting to know a little bit about me, I would like to get to know you too. Please subscribe to my Blog and send me your email address so we can share Ideas back and forth.

The Decision

Today I decided to begin a blog post. I am excited to put myself out there by sharing my thoughts and opinions with others but I’m somewhat at a loss for words. How inconvenient is that?! Initially, I was all rev’d up ready to share with the world so I created my account complete with a menu bar. Then it hit me. What should I write about?

Well, I have decided to write about the decision to write. Lets face it, journal writing the old fashioned way – in a real book – is boring to me. Instead, I’m more inclined to engage in a meaningful dialog with others rather than go on a tangent in a kind of monologue.

I have so many different facets to my life that I would love to share in a community of like-minded individuals. Maybe I could also overcome a little bit of cabin fever along the way.

The various topics I intend to blog about would include but not limited to Faith & Spirituality, Kids, motherhood, family, marriage, friends, homemaking, building a home based business, recipes, ect.

I am a huge fan of all things Family. Recently we added a new member to our family, and she has brought such a fresh joy to the spirit of each person in our home. Now that Brian, my husband, and I have a combined total of 5 kids whose age ranges from 7 months old to 17 years old, we lead a very busy life. Oh, yeah, we cannot forget to mention our 3 wonderful fur-babies. We are truly blessed!!

As a stay-at-home-mom, I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to provide for my family in a way that directly benefits each of my loved ones. Brian is also grateful that I was set aside my career to manage our home & make sure our family is healthy & comfortable. Even though I don’t get any sick days, paid time off, or vacation time, the benefits to my spirit surpasses it all. I believe our family plan has a positive impact on my marriage and on the relationships we have with our children.

Yes, I mentioned I have a home-based business. With irresistible products, a positive community impact, and a rewarding opportunity. For 50 years, the beauty brand I represent has offered it all. With 3 million Independent Consultants and $3 billion in global annual wholesale sales, the company is a top beauty brand and direct seller in more than 35 markets around the world. I’m proud to be part of a business that affords me the opportunity to prioritize my business around my Faith & Family.

I love to cook so I am always ready to try some new variation of the down home recipes I grew up on in Southeast Virginia. Some of the dishes I like to prepare are easy to double batch and freeze for easy meal solutions on hectic days.

I look forward to developing future posts for you all.

Thank you for your interest and support. .
